Harvard-Yale WeekendPosted: November 17, 2013 On Saturday, the 130th Harvard-Yale Game will be played at the Yale Bowl. The Bulldogs lead the total series 65-56 (with 8 ties between the two teams). The first Harvard-Yale Game was played on November 13, 1875, the Game has been played annually without interruption since 1945.Harvard-Yale Weekend provides alumni with the opportunity to reconnect with Yale and classmates. YPPS prepared the mailing that was sent out to alumni with details about the AYA Alumni Village for the Tailgate and other events available to alumni.Go Bulldogs! read more |
Association of Yale Alumni Assembly: New Haven at 375Posted: November 14, 2013 During the week leading up to the 130th Harvard-Yale Football Game, the Association of Yale Alumni (AYA) will convene for its 73rd Assembly. YPPS produced the materials that alumni from the classes of 1938 to the recently graduated class of 2013 will use while meeting to celebrate the accomplishment of alumni and discussing the future of the university. This year the theme of the assembly is New Haven at 375. read more |
Yale and the Olympic GamesPosted: November 12, 2013 Elis have a strong record at the Olympics. With 200 alumni having competed since the second modern Olympic games in Paris in 1900, Yale has had more athletes represented at the games than many countries. read more |
Printing Presses: Keeping the Craft Alive in the CollegesPosted: November 10, 2013 By the 1980s all twelve Yale residential college’s housed their own traditional printing presses. Thirty years later only Branford, Davenport and Jonathan Edwards continue to provide students with courses and the opportunity to use their printing pressesThe presses are experiencing a renaissance, Branford College considered repurposing the press in the basement with other facilities in 2011 but student support for the press resulted in the college its reopening after several years of being closed. read more |
Giving BackPosted: November 7, 2013 The holidays are here! For the fourth year in a row, the staff at 25 Science Park and 344 Winchester will hold a basket raffle to raise funds to bring some holiday cheer to the Wexler-Grant Elementary School. This year, baskets (see pictures above) were provided by a record number of Yale departments and some individual staff members. On November 15, tickets will be drawn.The proceeds from the fundraising efforts, which also included a bake sale, will go toward age-appropriate holiday gifts, goodie bags containing fun treats, and a hat and gloves for each child. read more |
International CollaborationPosted: November 4, 2013 Delegates from Russian universities toured Ithaca College, MIT, the University of Rochester and Yale in order to meet with leaders from the offices of alumni relations, institutional development and printing and mailing operations to discuss how their American counterparts are seeking alternative revenue in higher education.During the tour the delegation visited Yale Printing & Publishing. Orange is the New BlackPosted: October 29, 2013 The color orange has taken the Yale campus and New Haven by storm in the last few weeks. Along with brilliant oranges the leaves have changed to bright yellows and deep reds for what has seemed to be the longest autumn we’ve had in recent memory. The color orange is associated with the autumn season, being the color of pumpkins and leaves undergoing the change of seasons. read more |
