Yale and the Olympic Games

Elis have a strong record at the Olympics. With 200 alumni having competed since the second modern Olympic games in Paris in 1900, Yale has had more athletes represented at the games than many countries. With 113 total medals (55 gold, 26 silver and 32 bronze) the bulldogs have earned an astounding number of accolades in ice hockey, swimming, rowing, fencing and many more competitions.In 2012, Elis brought back a gold medal in women’s rowing and a bronze in men’s rowing.YPPS had the honor of designing a poster that will be installed at the entrance of Payne Whitney Gymnasium in order to honor the accomplishments of Yale athletes at the Olympics over the course of the last 113 years.
