YPPS Supports United Way – Let’s Make an Impact!

The Yale-United Way partnership reflects the university’s commitment to service. YPPS supports that mission of service and this year’s Yale-United Way Campaign with a variety of materials designed, printed, posted and mailed. The Yale-United Way campaign, strives to improve education, financial stability, and health for people in New Haven. The YPPS team is involved on many levels of this campaign.

Director Jeff Gworek is on the Yale-United Way Planning Committee coming up with ideas to encourage participation across campus. YPPS has two champions, Joe Relihan and Nancy Beausoleil, who are planning several in-house events to get their colleagues to fundraise toward the overall goal. Jason England designed four posters as part of the “Let’s Make an Impact” campaign.  The posters feature four Yale staff members from across campus. These can be seen around campus in breakrooms, hallways and inside elevators.

The Yale-United Way Committee wanted to cut down on the amount of paper used during this campaign. Last year the retirees received a letter and follow-up postcard. It was well received.  For the 2018 campaign, YPPS was asked to design a postcard that will be printed and mailed to all Yale retirees.

Lastly, YPPS was charged with designing and printing t-shirts for the ‘Day of Caring’ being held, Saturday, October 13.  Yale will join with United Way and other organizations to sponsor the first ever New Haven Day of Caring — a day dedicated to bringing people together to tackle beautification projects at parks throughout the city. All participants of this event will receive the t-shirt as a thank you gift.
