YPPS Fills Backpacks for New Haven Children

Recently, YPPS donated pads, paper and other back-to-school items helping to fill 150 backpacks for children in New Haven.  This was part of the Clifford Beers Clinic’s (CBC) annual backpack drive.

Every six months or so YPPS reviews its inventory and pull out items that are obsolete. But nothing is every thrown out, YPPS is always looking to recycle items and was approached by CBC to participate in their annual backpack drive. In addition to items from the warehouse, staff members voluntarily donated other back-to-school type items.

Clifford Beers is a mental health clinic serving children and families in the Greater New Haven area.  Their focus is on working with children who have experienced trauma — things like abuse, neglect, witnessing community violence, and loss of a loved one.
