Huskies Clinch National Title, Highlight New Brand IdentityPosted: April 6, 2014 Last night, the University of Connecticut Huskies clinched a fourth Men’s National Basketball title against the University of Kentucky Wildcats.In this unexpected battle of the seventh and eighth seeds, UConn highlighted the most distinctive change in logo for the university since the 1970s when the profile of the husky was adopted. The new logo debuted with the beginning of the 2013-2014 athletic season but the high-profile national championship game is likely to solidify its brand identity nationally. read more |
YPPS Scores Bronze at IPMAPosted: April 1, 2014 YPPS is proud to announce winning a Bronze award in this year’s In-plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) contest in the brochure category! In all there were 420 entries in this category. Many of the brochures entered were printed with toner and inkjet devices and the rest on offset presses. read more |
The Logos of the Final FourPosted: March 30, 2014 With the “dance” winding down, the last four teams of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament will be vying for the 2014 National Championship. Florida and UConn will face-off to play the winner of the Wisconsin-Kentucky at the National Championship Game on Monday, April 7th. YPPS welcomes you to look over the past logos from the Final Four. The Final Four logos tend to highlight the landmarks of the locations which the semifinal and final games of the tournament take place. The 2011 Final Four logo incorporated the NASA logo because Houston was the host city. read more |

Celebrating 25 Years of the World Wide WebPosted: March 11, 2014 Today marks 25 years of the internet. On this day in 1989, Tim Berners-Lee, a British scientist at CERN invented what would come to be known as the internet. When the World Wide Web was initially conceived it was described as “a wide-area hypermedia information retrieval initiative aiming to give universal access to a large universe of documents.” The world’s first website however, did not go live until December 20, 1990. read more |
Windham Campbell Literature PrizesPosted: March 10, 2014 The eight winners of the 2014 Windham Campbell Prizes were announced on campus on Friday, March 7th. The winners in the three categories — drama, fiction, and non-fiction — will receive $150,000 each in recognition of their achievements and to support their ongoing work. The prizewinners hail from seven countries: Sierra Leone, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, India, the United States, Canada and Australia.YPPS printed the place cards and the posters used before the official announcement.
