YPPS Sets the Stage for Kerry Initiative and Yale Climate Conference

Recently, former US Senator John Kerry hosted the Yale Climate Conference. This two-day event featured diplomats, politicians, movie stars and business leaders who discussed policy to combat climate change.

A huge amount of work and planning goes on behind the scenes of a large event such as this one, which included 5 sessions and thousands of attendees. YPPS developed, procured and installed all the printing, signage, giveaways and backdrops needed for this conference, including: 4 large video backdrops, street side sandwich boards, inside wayfinding signage, name badges, lanyards and water bottles.

The biggest challenge for the YPPS team was the short turnaround time-frame, and some unusual requests that included specially colored lanyards used for security purposes, and extra-large—30 foot–video backdrop that needed to look great, but also cover wood paneled stage areas. The team worked closely with the staff of Yale Conferences and Events to cover this event that spanned five different venues, including Woolsey Hall and the Law School.

Large backdrops such as the ones used at Woolsey and Yale Law School pose particular challenges in regard to color and consistency. The YPPS team was able to meet these challenges and do it within deadline thanks to the long term relationships that have been cultivated with several local vendors. One of the vendors even specializes in ensuring the Yale blue color is correct and falls within Yale branding guidelines. Consistency in Yale branding is very important, and what seems like a simple thing such as color is really much more complicated. YPPS customers can rest assure they will always receive top level customer service and the best quality products for the lowest possible cost.
