Yale Interns Develop Fun Orientation Video

This summer YPPS and several other Yale departments had the good fortune to work with several New Haven Promise(NHP) interns. In mid-June three interns (from YPPS, HR and Administration) and their managers discussed the possibility of a group video project over lunch. During the past two months, six interns from four departments worked together to create a fun orientation video for their peers.

After several planning meetings and filming sessions, they produced a useful and amusing guide to navigating the workforce as a New Haven Promise student interning at Yale. In this 3-minute video, the interns talk about the Dos and Don’ts of working in an office and about their personal experiences and what they learned. The video was given as a surprise to Chris Brown, Director of New Haven Community Hiring Initiatives at Yale. He was impressed by the quality and the overall message. Chris is going to use it during future orientations for new interns.  It will also be posted on the New Have Promise website http://newhavenpromise.org/.
